About Us
SwimAmerica was developed by the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) to be the most effective learn-to-swim program in the country. We’re proud to offer it here in Nashville, where kids learn not just how to swim, but how to swim well—with an emphasis on proper technique from day one.
NAC SwimAmerica is both goal-oriented and technique-focused, using a station-based system that lets swimmers move up at their own pace as they master new skills. Each SwimAmerica station has specific skill goals that build toward the next station. As your child masters the skills in their current station, they will “level up” to the next one, oftentimes mid-session! This flexible approach helps kids stay motivated and grow at their own pace. As swimmers progress through the SwimAmerica stations they will build confidence, celebrate progress, and develop a lifelong love of swimming.

Location
All NAC SwimAmerica lessons take place at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, home to the Nashville Aquatic Club and its nationally recognized swim meets. All the NAC swim groups practice here too, so families with multiple swimmers can often schedule everyone at the same location and time.
Program Director
Ashley Blackburn
Ashley Blackburn has been part of the NAC family for over 20 years and has worn many hats during that time, from coaching our youngest swimmers to coordinating developmental programs and teaching every SwimAmerica station along the way. She currently also serves as the Admin Director for the NAC team.
Ashley grew up in Northern Kentucky, where she swam competitively for both the Kenton County Clippers and the Cincinnati Marlins. She continued her swimming journey at Northwestern University, where she was a member of the Women’s Swim Team and served as team captain her senior year.
Now living in Franklin, Tennessee, Ashley is a busy wife and mother to five kids and brings that same energy and love for children into every aspect of the SwimAmerica program. She’s passionate about helping kids learn to swim with confidence, whether they dream of competing or just want to enjoy the water safely for life.
